Corinne Lightweaver is an artist, writer, and editor, and a two-time cancer survivor. "In the Breast of Health" records the artist's journey with breast cancer, exhuming unconscious fears and remapping the changing contours of her body. After her diagnosis, she began using discarded fabric scraps and objects as well as new methods—cutting, pasting, and piecing—that comprised the best storytelling method for piecing a body and a life together again.
Esther Dreifuss-Kattan, PhD, ATR, is an art therapist, psychoanalyst, and psycho-oncologist who has worked extensively with cancer patients/survivors. Her introduction, "Art as a Transformational Object: Finding Form and an Aesthetic Moment," explores Corinne's art and artistic process in a psychoanalytic context. Dreifuss-Kattan is the author of "Cancer Stories: Creativity and Self Repair" (The Analytic Press, 1990) and "Art and Mourning: The Role of Creativity in Trauma and Healing" (Routledge, 2016).
